Before you sign: what actually moves the price

  1. Count real active contributors per capability before you buy, then work backwards through the rate card — do not buy on a guess
  2. Container and IaC are the cheapest capabilities at 0.33 credits per day; API and Web is the most expensive at 3.0, so price out that expansion before you enable it
  3. Evo COS, the AI pentesting capability, consumes 4,000 credits per assessment. It is a large single line item, so model how often you will actually run it
  4. Billing is per active contributor per day, so a capability you run once a month still charges for the days contributors are active. Batching scans into fewer days can reduce consumption

Frequently asked questions

What happens when my credits run out?

Running out of prepaid credits does not in itself cut off access. Consumption beyond your contracted pool is tracked as on-demand usage and invoiced in arrears, and you can ask your account team to top up mid-contract.

Do credits expire?

The vendor lists this question in its FAQ; the binding terms sit in Snyk's credit-based billing policy, which you should read before signing.

Can I use credits across different capabilities?

Yes. Credits apply across the whole Snyk Platform, so you can mix and match capabilities as your needs change.

How do I estimate how many credits to buy?

Work from the published rate card: for each capability, multiply active contributors by the daily credit rate, then by the number of days you will use it. API and Web is the most expensive at 3.0 credits per target per day; Container and IaC are the cheapest at 0.33.

Is there a free option?

Snyk publicly offers its product at no cost for people maintaining open source software, via an application on its site.
